Joe Gazzam recently sold his first two scripts, entitled “Scared Straight” and “Straight & Narrow”. He’s currently completing an assignment for Sony to write the film version of the hit TV show “21 Jump Street.” He also sold his first show entitled “Deputized” to the Sci-fi Network.

I thought I should put a quick post up here. I’m going to be taking a break from posting for a little while. However, I will continue to answer any questions any of you have. If you post a reply to any of my blogs, it will trigger an alert to my email. I will always answer those. Thanks!

Enjoy your break. I hope you’re taking it for a good reason (like a month-long Hawaiian vacation) rather than a bad one (like the owners of this blog won’t pony up your dough). Anyway, I do enjoy your insights, so I hope you return to posting soon. Until then, I’ll assume you’re writing a kick ass script. The world definitely needs more great films.
Nahh, the owners of the site are the coolest people ever. And yeah, I’m just swamped with 3 projects going at once. I just didn’t wanna half-a$$ the blog.
But again, can definitely fit in time to answer anything specific!
Hope you are doing well Joe, you are the envy of most screenwriters if you are that busy. A question though: if I have a script that I have ‘finished’, when should I send it out ot others to read? Should I send out my first draft, and work on the feedback, or should I try and do several drafts first, get it as good as I think it can be and then send it?
What I do is lovingly use and abuse the people close to me. I give it to my friends multiple times and then I give it out to people that I feel I may only get to read it once.
But only only give it to someone that matters (in the business that might do something with the script) after I’m sure it’s in polished shape.
